                          AXIA Earns State PR Awards

SARASOTA, Fla. (Aug. 7, 2007) – The Florida Public Relations Association presented AXIA with two awards of distinction on Tuesday night for its work with Turfgrass America and Operation Skate. The 2007 Golden Image Awards were presented at FPRA’s annual conference at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota.

AXIA was recognized for its work with Turfgrass America around a media campaign targeted to generate awareness of MiniVerde, the new greens grass for the PGA Tour’s Players Championship. Outreach to media was successful with 11 earned media placements mentioning MiniVerde within five days and the advertising equivalent value of $63,245. Texas-based Turfgrass America has more than 300 employees operating 14 farms with 28 varieties of grass and six retail distribution centers encompassing 3,000 acres.

Operation Skate began as a group of concerned parents who wanted to create a community skate park. By using a strategic public relations campaign, AXIA accomplished its objectives to create awareness, gain 501(c)3 status and increase financial support for Operation Skate. With AXIA’s donated services, the skate park became a reality on Nov. 5, 2006.

AXIA adds the 2007 Golden Image Awards to its growing list of accomplishments. In 2005, AXIA took home a Golden Image Award for its promotion of Modis around Super Bowl XXXIX. In 2004, AXIA won the Dick Pope All Florida Golden Image Award, the most coveted honor among Florida's public relations professionals, for a media-relations campaign publicizing tourism.

FPRA conducts the Golden Image Awards competition annually to recognize outstanding public relations programs in Florida and to encourage and promote the development of public relations as a profession. Winners demonstrate the very best examples of innovation, planning and design. The awards competition includes four divisions of categories: Public Relations Programs, Printed Tools of Public Relations, Audio/Visual Tools of Public Relations and Student Projects in Public Relations
